The graduation portraits of 337 West Point graduates who had served 20 or more years in the military were rated on a 7-point scale of dominance/submissiveness. Cadets’ facial dominance predicted military rank 20 years later, while the effect of academic achievement at West Point on promotion declined over time. Contains 56 references.
